Well written! I feel it's probably a bit of a stretch to argue that r/AmITheAsshole can be utilised as some sort of a global calibrater of social norms. At most, it's a very specific local calibrator. It is interesting, however, to get to sample the wide range of differing social norms that exist in the wild (that's really where Reddit shines, IMO).
